Beer + Beethoven. Friday May 20 at 6.30pm, QPAC Concert Hall
Friday May 20 at 6.30pm, QPAC Concert Hall
Many say the mark of a city is its population, international investment appeal or the global tourism rating; we say it’s the ability to combine and celebrate two of the very tipping points of mankind – the music of Beethoven, with the taste of a cold, craft beer. And so knowing this…
The inaugural BEER + BEETHOVEN event will be staged on Friday May 20 from 6.30pm at the QPAC Concert Hall, hosted by the ever-progressive Queensland Symphony Orchestra in a beautiful partnership with Brisbane’s own Newstead Brewing Co. A QSOSundowner event, it will be the first of many such celebrations, and rightly so!
Beethoven, the genius who created (among other musical magic), nine symphonies dubbed the cornerstone of western civilisation, and us – who have rustled up just about nine brews.
Beethoven – Piano Concerto No.3, Coriolan Overture, Piano Concerto No.4
- The full force of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra (this orchestra has just returned from performing in Melbourne for the first time ever – to a standing ovation no less)….
- One of the planet’s most impressive pianists, Russian Nikolai Demidenko^
- Maestro Vassilis Christopoulos, leading the charge
It’s enough to build a thirst….oh wait…
STUFF YOU NEED TO KNOW:
The bar opens 5.30pm and the $55 ticket includes one bottle of Newstead Brewing Co Out & a Bout Pale Ale* to enjoy before the concert at 6.30pm. The concert is 75 minutes with no interval, so you can be carving up dance floors, meeting kinfolk or chowing down with your crew by 8pm.
